Richard’s father was a parish priest, spending his entire working life in four Lincolnshire parishes.

Richard first sang in the choir of a small rural church, St Mary’s, in Wrawby, Lincolnshire. Then, at eight, he joined the choir of Lincoln Cathedral and became head chorister in the autumn of 1978. During this time he was chosen to sing solos on radio and television broadcasts and the choir made several successful recordings, still available today. He is now a member of the Winchester Philharmonic Choir.

Richard went on to work for the National Trust for seventeen years helping to manage country houses, and was still involved in music, promoting and curating twenty nine outdoor concerts for the Trust, including jazz, classical and rock and pop.

Since 2008 Richard has worked for the Countess Mountbatten of Burma and her family and lives on the Broadlands Estate in Romsey, Hampshire. This part time role continues today.

The inspiration for his work in helping people curate their music comes from two experiences - first, from designing both his parents' funerals and memorial services and secondly, from designing various services for the Mountbatten family at Broadlands.

Richard helps his clients create milestone events that are bespoke, unique and, most importantly, deeply personal. These events may include classical music, choral music, rock and pop music, jazz, the blues or television, film and radio themes.

As well as formal occasions Richard also advises on music and musicians for informal events such as private parties, recitals, concerts and corporate events.

Richard also helps and supports clients with their eulogies and other important speeches.

From each project a donation is made to The National Churches Trust and/or the Lincoln Cathedral Music Fund. Both are registered charities.

People say:
I was so pleased to play a small part in the Memorial Service of my dear friend last week. I thought the idea for some of his friends to each read a short prayer was so very thoughtful and touching. That part of the service for me, was just one of many highlights. You made the whole process for me to take part straight forward and stress free. I am not much of a public speaker so your help was especially welcome.
